The first step to becoming an Icenian is joining our Discord server. This is where our community communicates, organizes events, and conducts government business.

Connect to the CivMC server at play.civmc.net using Minecraft Java Edition. Make sure to read the server rules!
Travel to Icenia
Our capital is located at coordinates -3920, -4274 in the -,- quadrant.
You can use the one-time teleport /otp command to teleport to an Icenian citizen, or travel on the overworld railways. Ask in Discord for the best route!
Introduce Yourself
Once you arrive, introduce yourself in our Discord at #apply-for-citizenship! Let us know your in-game name,
what interests you (building, trading, politics, etc.), and how you'd like to contribute.
Find a Home
Many cities in Icenia have free apartments available. You can initially find temporary housing and eventually build your own housing and apartments as you settle down in the community.

Citizenship Tiers
Icenia has a tiered citizenship system that rewards activity and commitment.
Rights and requirements are cumulative — each tier includes all below it.
Resident
Requirements
- Joined the Icenia Discord server
- Made a Residency application in #apply-for-citizenship
- Had their residency application approved by a government official
Benefits
- Property ownership
- Access to the public factory building upon request
- Access to public farms upon request and vetting
- Participate in community events
Citizen
Requirements
- Must hold the Resident title
- Must have completed a small public works project
- The Speaker of the Senate, President, or Secretary of Defense may bar someone from citizenship
Benefits
- Eligible to vote in elections
- Eligible to serve in the armed forces
- Access to the national farms
- Eligible to own a small bunker (must be approved by the Secretary of the Interior prior to construction)
Patrician
Requirements
- Must hold the Citizen title
- Must have completed a medium public works project
- Must primarily play within the nation of Icenia (may be enforced by consensus of the President, Secretary of Defense, and Speaker of the Senate)
Benefits
- Eligible to run in elections
- Eligible to own a medium-sized bunker (must be approved by the Secretary of the Interior prior to construction)

What is CivMC?
CivMC is a Minecraft server focused on nation-building, politics, economics, and player interaction. It features unique plugins that create a complex geopolitical environment.
Do I need special permissions to build?
You'll need to be added to our group permissions (Namelayer) to build. You will receive access after your residency application is approved.
Please ensure you make a request in #building-requests and follow our building guidelines. Officials are willing to help you out in your build request, so don't hesitate to ask!
Is Icenia safe for new players?
Yes! Icenia is well-protected with active defenders, snitches, vault infrastructure and international cooperation. We have low crime rates and a welcoming community that helps new players get established.
How do I get resources?
We have public farms, shops where you can purchase materials, and jobs/community projects you can
contribute to. Many citizens are also happy to help new players with starter materials.
